Cape Coral Vinyl Fence Installation
Want a backyard you can't see into from the street? Vinyl is a common privacy choice here.
Vinyl, also called PVC, doesn't need paint or stain the way wood does under City code. Call (239) 341-6184 to talk it through.
Privacy or picket
6 ft privacy. Solid panels, top to bottom. This is the tallest residential fence the City allows, except along sides that abut a commercial or professional use.
4 ft picket. Spaced pickets. Good for keeping a dog in without closing off the yard.
Vinyl comes in white and other colors. Tell us what you have in mind when you call.
Wind and vinyl
A solid privacy fence catches the wind like a sail. National cost guides note that vinyl privacy fences can blow over in high-wind areas. So on a vinyl job, post spacing and extra reinforcement are part of the quote. We go over them with you at the measure.
Canal lots
On a waterfront lot, the back 20 ft has its own rule. City code: fencing within 20 ft of the rear property line on waterfront sites must be open mesh above 3 ft.
That means solid vinyl privacy can't run full height across the back of a canal lot. In that rear zone, solid vinyl stays at 3 ft or under. Above that, it has to be open. Many canal owners run vinyl privacy down the sides and switch to aluminum or chain link at the back.
HOA communities
Most of Cape Coral has no HOA. A few named communities do, including the Yacht Club area, Cape Harbour, Tarpon Point, Sandoval, Coral Lakes and Bellavida. Sandoval publishes its own Architectural Review Standards. If you live in one of these, the color and style may need HOA approval before the City permit.
What moves the price
Footage, height, the number of gates, whether an old fence comes out, the permit, and how much reinforcement the lot needs. Try the fence cost calculator for a rough range.
